The #20, Josh Upperman takes fifth in the opening round at Pell City, AL

(N. Kingsville, OH) Qualifying fourth going into the main event would give Josh the upper hand with the all-important gate pick. When the gate dropped in moto one, the fastest Pro ATV riders in the world all pursued to be the first one out and around turn one. Josh would attain the third spot position with his sights on second. It didn’t take long, and by the seventh lap, the #20 was able to make the pass on Suzuki rider, Josh Creamer and gain ground on the first place rider, Dustin Wimmer who now had a five second lead. The Baldwin Motorsports rider was posting some of the fastest lap times and was able to snag another second off the lead rider, but with time running out he continued to push and would take second with the wave of the checkered flag.

In moto two, Josh would once again put his TRX450R in a great starting position, fourth off the line, but would soon battle with Can-Am riders, John Natalie and Chad Wienen who were knocking on the back door. Josh did all he could do to keep them behind, but fatigued by holding them off, was shortly passed by both riders. This put Josh in sixth where he would finish the race and would seize fifth place overall for the weekend.
